Hi, My name is Baby, and as you can tell from my picture, I am a ferret. Since recently becoming a legal pet in Massachussetts, I thought I'd share what my life has been like in Boston. I am nocturnal, so the nightlife is very important to me. My evenings are filled with exciting searches for places to burrow, sweaters to hide in and socks to steal(my human thinks he lost them in the dryer!) Dinner is usually around 6 and even with the variety of foods that Boston offers, I usually choose ferret pellets, but on special occasions indulge in a Banana from Haymarket. My condo is quite large considering the current housing market, but I lucked out because it came with a maze of tunnel tubes! My roomate, a squishy stuffed animal raccoon, and I spend our days curled up on the wall to wall ferret crystals waiting for another night of exploring. During the summer I enjoy lying in my hammock
listening to the roar of humans at a baseball
game over at Fenway park. When the Red Sox
win, I get really happy & jump around
making a clicking noise. Because the winters
here can be cold, I tend to stay indoors,
but when summer comes, my human & I go
for walks in the park . We love to people
watch & when I get to know someone, I
remember them! It also gives me a chance
to project my 'musky' smell into the open
before going home for my nightly bath &
nail clipping. I've met some other ferrets
that nip, but just like people, we each have
different personalities! I'm a very sweet
ferret even though my hunting skills teach
me to look for snakes. My curiosity can get
me into mischief as my human doesn't know
all the crevices I can squeeze into even
though he says the place is 'ferret proof.'
Well, I hope you've learned some things about
living with a ferret. On a personal note,
I'd like to thank Joel for adopting me and
bringing me to Boston!
