Watertown, MA ~ Steve Aylward - Town Council

About District C

District C is in the heart of Watertown, and the vast majority of the town’s infrastructure resides here. Town Hall, Police Headquarters, two Fire Stations, the Public Library, the DPW, Victory Field, and two schools are all located within the district.

District Representation

Under our current form of town government, we elect a Council President, Councilors-at-Large, and District Councilors. The job of the District Councilor includes dealing with a full range of issues that affect the whole town. But, every bit as important, the District Councilor is charged with looking out for the specific interest of the district he or she represents. The district Councilor should be the first to be called when a particular town department is not properly addressing a citizen’s particular issue.

In his tenure on the School Committee, Steve was always available and always returned calls. As Chairman, he took constituent service to the next level by instituting ‘office hours’ together with the Superintendent. That novel idea allowed parent to meet with the Superintendent and School Committee Chair simultaneously to voice their concerns. Steve will make a same commitment to constituent service as District Councilor. He will return phone calls and see that Watertown’s government works for you.
